Thoughts from Jobs

After reading about that moron Steve Ballmer's most recent rantings, and then reviewing his past performances, a reader post at MDN prompted me to dig up this awesome Business Week interview with Steve Jobs from late last year. He's damned right when he says that "the sales guy" is running things over at Microsoft.

His interview:

I also thought to repost Steve Jobs' recent commencement address at Stanford, both as a transcript:
http://news-service.stanford.edu/new...bs-061505.html

and an audio recording of his address:

Thank you, sir. This stuff is always interesting to re-read (and listen).

That is nothing you should see the video of him running around a stage screaming like a junkie on PCP before spraining his ankle.

Oh my god, that Balmers iPod one is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time.

The BusinessWeek article is great. I think it provides a pretty good insight on a possible reason that Microsoft doesn't seem to excel as well as a complete company rather then just small portions.

Here are SJ's comments on various topics from this years D3 conference:

Video on iPod:

http://www.alwayson-network.com/comm...=11002_0_1_0_C

iTunes on a phone:

http://www.alwayson-network.com/prin...P11007_0_1_0_C

It will be interesting to see what happens tommorrow after these comments ... which seem to contradict some of the rumors floating around (ie. allowing you to download tunes from ITMS directly on the phone).

Yeah, I read his statements regarding the cell phone carriers before, and for them to try and force only receiving music over their bandwidth would seem to deaden the allure of a music phone. But there are phones out there right now that do it. Sony's got some, among others. Maybe the carriers have lightened their position on this? We'll find out soon enough.
