VirtualPC and CD-ROM

Does VirtualPC emulate the CD-ROM drive or does it just expose it to the emulated OS? In other words, will you see the same CD-ROM drive model inside the emulated OS?

The emulator will see the same model of your drive but will use a generic driver. VPC usually will see a CD that is inserted unless it's a Mac only CD.

In general or just for VPC. I believe generic drivers are just used in VPC unless there is a PC equivalent driver that is installed and setup.

How long did the VPC7 installation take you? I tried installing Win XP last night and after 30min it crashed because I was running 50 things in the background. I'm gonna go home after work today and install it again without anything running. Just curious to know how long it took you guys.
