Cool iMac G5 extended desktop hack?

Hey you cats,

Does anyone know of or have any experience with a hack for the video output on the iMac G5 that will allow it to do the extended desktop and not just mirroring? I recall that there was some similar hack that folks liked for the iBook.

Oh, and for you iMac G5 owners, is the fan noise really a pain? Worse then my 1Gig TiBook, do you think?

I'm thinking about getting one for an installation that I'll be doing. It's got the guts I need and not having to shell out for a single monitor is a real bonus.

Many thanks!!

Super duper! Thanks so much! I didn't even think to see if the iBook patch would work too.

Thanks again!

Regards to all

Yeah they don't check anymore, they just wanna get people in a spook.

If your VPU fails though, they'll probably find out.

I just received a new rev.B iMac 20" 2.0Ghz on Friday and have been using it alot this weekend!

There IS fan noise, but it is very low, and definately not bothersome. It is not like owning a tower... it is very quiet, but YES there is fan noise.

I tried installing this last week with no luck. it just didn't work. I have an iMac G5 17" 1.8. I have no idea why, but it just doesn't work. I need to get another monitor to test with, but it's not working for me.
