g5 firmware update after installing Tiger.

hey

just installed tiger on my 1.6 ghz g5. it's asking me to install a firmware update after i boot. i would do it, but it's saying that i should do stuff like remove third party RAM before i perform the installation. is this really necessary? can i get away without pulling the ram? and what's this firmware update about anyway?

thanks in advance

Mmmmmm there were some problems not with third party ram but with the original Apple 128s on the inner slot. If the G5 is working fine- forget it.
