New iPods: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...3.1.1.0?206,33

$750 for 30gbs! Too much for me. $600 for 15gb. And $460 for 10gb but you don't get the dock or the remote, so forget about this model.

Still too expensive for my taste. I'm also not sure if I like the buttons above the scroll wheel.

Oh well, I guess my mini disc player will keep me happy for a while.

Hmmm....I'm going to try and keep an open mind about this, but at first glance, I'm not crazy about the new design. A few points:

-the battery life on the new models has dropped from ten to eight hours. Maybe this is because of the new form...
-if you were in the habit of carting your iPod in the car and used a firewire adapter to recharge via the car's AC plug, things just got more complicated as you'll have to bring the cradle...then again, I'm probably in the minority on this...
-illuminated buttons...nice touch!
-still no microphone...darn...back to my Nomad for conducting interviews for stories...
-I'm going to hold off on installing the software update...the last one v.1.2.6 was stable as a rock and I'm hesitant to mess with a good thing.

Patrick you don't have to bring the crade, but you may need to buy the new dock connector->firewire adapter. Or a new car charger.

The dock connector to firewire cable seems to be included with all models.

I like the models. When I have a few bucks I think I'll buy the 15GB model.

Also, apparently Belkin has a power cable for the new ipods that hooks to the dock connector and then plugs into the car's cigarette lighter.

Edit: It looks like Apple gave Belkin a little forewarning as Belkin has a few accessories for the new iPods.
