Free MS Outlook

My MS Office subscription ends shortly and I was wondering if I could still use Outlook.

My Mail app crashes constantly and other email apps just don't grab me.

Thunderbird always disconnects from my iCloud account, Spark seems a bit unfinished and Mailspring hangs when I'm setting it up.

I used Outlook Express way back when and it seemed to be a serviceable email client.

So my question is: is Outlook a free email client that will carry on working when my subscription ends?

Tried MS support but their chatbot wasn't helpful.

I have an Outlook (Hotmail) account that I access via Safari. Would probably work in Firefox.

Pretty sure the Outlook app is not free as they want you to buy it from the Microsoft website. My guess is when your subscription is up it will allow you to open to check old emails but will probably not accept new incoming mail or let you send.

Have you looked into the Apple Mail app crashing? That is not normal, I have had a few little things with Apple Mail but all in all I like the application. Only reason I use outlook now is because of work.

There were suggestions in your other post about your Apple Mail problem. You said you tried rebuilding your mailboxes and were going to try restoring from a time machine back up but you never followed up on whether that worked or not.

Did you try what I suggested? I suggested getting rid of your multiple firewalls and your antivirus and see how it goes. If you’re behind a router, that is your firewall. A hardware firewall beats a software firewall any day.

I have never use a firewall in 25 years on a Mac and for some reason you have two going at once.

As far as the antivirus software I have the free malware bytes I run every once in a while. I suggest getting rid of that also. That could be causing a problem in Mail.

outlook is part of your subscription.. therefore if you stop paying the apps no longer update or function..
outlook turns into offline only..
if you wish to have full outlook functionality - then use the online webmail version which is still free.. : if you have a @hotmail, @msn or @live account or if you are a 365 hosted domain..
which is at
MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019): 2.6 Ghz 6 core i7/16GBs/1TBSSD
Asus MX27U 27", Matias BackLite Wireless Full size Keyboard
Datto S3X1 1TB SSD w/offsite cloud protection for time machine, Apple MagicPad2
