I'm more concerned about a crossover like Aperture to Photos; where we knew development had stopped on Aperture and Photos didn't have a 10th the features to succeed it. I have a feeling that's where we'll be; No smart playlists, no import, etc. Hoping for the best though.

Only time will tell but it doesn't really concern me, as I only have 661 songs and only one of those was paid for at the Apple iTunes music store, and oddly, I just got the receipt for it today even though I purchased it 2019-05-22, 2:44 PM. Not the speediest place for sending out receipts!!!

At least I can say I actually used and supported the Apple iTunes Music Store once before it possibly disappears. ;-)

My experience is quite different. Last song I bought (and always have) I received a receipt the next day. Most of my music from CDs I own or borrow. Likely about 1,000 from Apple of nearly 3,000.

I thought that Apple's delayed issuing of purchase receipts was intended to provide a window in which other purchases, if they happened, would be combined - so that a one-song purchase didn't have to mean a $1.19 charge on your credit card (and IIRC, Apple's success came in pioneering those kinds of micro-charges with iTunes).

I have never used my credit card on iTunes or the App Store for that matter. Would not share that info with Apple. I simply buy iTunes gift cards and keep around $30 in my account to cover purchases. When it gets low I add another $25 to it.

well, they already peeled off ibooks from itunes so the others shouldn't be a problem.

I manage my ibooks and when I sinc itunes, they show up fine.

I like the idea of separate apps as I don't use music or podcasts with my ATV.

They are just trying to push people with older Macs and OS's into upgrading by making your current or new iphones incompatible.
My iPhone 6s cannot connect to anything on my Snow Leopard iMac. I used to beable to use Image Capture to download Photos and video but that was taken away a few years ago.
**** 'em... Download them at the office.

I'm not disagreeing with your comments, but maybe start a new separate thread with your specific problems as far as your iPhone 6s cannot connect to anything on my Snow Leopard iMac goes.

Often there are workarounds or third-party software to overcome most problems, but I will sure agree that Apple etc, does not make it easy.

I just came across a similar situation with friend's Sonos Speaker apparently no longer available unless she bought a newer iPhone or iPod to get it working again with a new replacement router she had to get.

The good news is I located some third-party software that looks like it should work with her old iPod, and it has some very good, recent reviews.

So there is usually a way around the problem. But not always.

My work around was to keep my iPhone 4S without the sim card as an iPod. No wifi, No internet. works like new and the battery last for days instead of hours and I don't have to replace lightning cords that break every 3 months.

They don't make them like that any more. Apple no longer sees value in products that last. Too busy getting us to line up for the new shiny thing... Meh!
