My CD crashes a few years ago on my 2007 as well. I replaced it with a Buffalo external and it crashed about a year ago. Now I got nothing.

What do you mean by "crashes" and maybe supply a decent description of the problem?

Or if it's just not working, Just go and buy a new external Optical drive. They're sure cheap enough. But don't buy the Apple external one!!!

And have you even checked with Buffalo???
Many of their products carry a two and three-year warranty or more...
