macOS High Sierra 10.13

So, I assume High Sierra will be released at 10 a.m. PST today. I'll be downloading and installing this evening. I'll create a bootable flash drive shortly so I can eventually do a clean install. It'll be interesting to hear the reviews.

I've been running the GM for a week or so, it's pretty decent, however I find my mac is a bit more sluggish than before. Then again, it may be a good time to wipe and install clean.

Particularly like how they beefed up Photos, and that faces finally sync to iPhone.

I'm looking forward to checking out Photos. If it holds up, I may make it my image manager. I hesitate to copy all my 12,000 images into its Library. If I deselect the "copy..." in Preferences, then I guess all those images would be referenced but not available to other devices through iCloud. Hmmm.

Just waiting for High Sierra to go online.....

Will be installing it on my rMBP first and doing testing at work before doing any updates. There are no real "wow" features that make me want to push upgrading on my main machine and nothing that looks like it will drastically improve my Mac for the better in a pro environment.

Seems there is already a pretty big exploit for High Sierra
"Patrick Wardle, a former NSA hacker who now serves as chief security researcher at ‎Synack, posted a video of the hack -- a password exfiltration exploit -- in action.

Passwords are stored in the Mac's Keychain, which typically requires a master login password to access the vault.

But Wardle has shown that the vulnerability allows an attacker to grab and steal every password in plain-text using an unsigned app downloaded from the internet, without needing that password."
