Late 2006 White Macbook Cracked Cover

Hi. I have a late 2006 White Macbook which has had a cracked (cracking) cover around the keyboard and front for a few years now. The Macbook is in perfect shape. Someone told me that Apple would replace this free of charge? Is this true, and if so, how do I go about having the repair done?

Thanks!

Free of charge from 5 years from the date of purchase. After 5, you'll be paying for the repair.

Thanks for the info. That's a pain, though, and doesn't really seem fair....

Have a good night.

Sadly in terms of technology 2005 is older than ancient history.
So even though your MacBook is alive and well, maybe contemplate
replacement
sooner than later.

Then it shall become good fodder
for a local electronics recycling bin.

I purchase my computers on the basis after three years trade 'em in;
motor vehicles maybe five to seven years. Keeps the economy active.

I change computers when one of the following occurs:
1. the newest operating system cannot load on my current machine
2. the computer is not reliable
3. It is slow to the point of being annoying
4. I want to use a program or application that requires a more recent machine/OS
5. the battery's useful life is over (unless replacing the battery is reasonable)
6. or, of course the 'puter doesn't work
