I HATE Windows

I just had to yell that out.

A while ago I used bootcamp and installed windows 7 on my old mac mini. There is a win program I need to use. At first, I actually liked using it. A nice temporary departure from years of OSX when using ArcView...anyhow, I have an audio driver issue. I can't get the speakers to work (although they work fine is OSX).

So I spent hours today trying to find the correct driver. (I still haven't gotten it). What I did encounter, were countless malware, spyware programs, my browsers started re-directing, i'd re-open and my default pages were changed, I found random programs running in the background....IT DROVE ME NUTS. I HATE IT. Tonights experience reminded me why I abandoned the windows ecosystem 8 years ago. I've had peace with OSX even though the latest developments have been irritating and I don't like where OSX is heading....at least its peaceful. At least im not battling constant invasions of viruses/spyware...or better yet, installing spyware to detect spyware.

If only ESRI could publish Arcview for OSX, I could completely burn my windows installer disk and finally purge my mac mini of the burden i've placed it under.

sigh.... I just needed to rant.

How do those windows users put up with this bull s***t

Hmmm....?

Aren't some of the problems you mentioned one of the main reasons that so many Windows users became "switchers" and just used and enjoyed using their new Mac and Apple's OS X and associated applications etc.??

What I find amusing is my security cameras HAVE AN APP for that for my idevices. But ironically can only be programmed with windows
Explorer. So silly but yes forcing me to have VMware and windows for just that one reason. So I feel your pain.
Good luck trying to figure out how to do firmware upgrades LOL

Haven't tried windows 8 as yet. XP seemed their best product IMO. My daughter lent me her laptop with Vista ...... it was all I could do to restrain myself from throwing it against the wall.

TrendNet? Needs Internet Explorer with ActiveX to configure them, and they run Linux, but have iOS viewing software.

That and the yearly running of tax software are the only reasons I have a vmware setup with WinXP.

Gave windows 8 a shot. It works, Internet explorer 10 has some issues with compatibility on the one thing that I need windows for at work. Odd. The consumer preview worked. Anywho I see it working better with touch screen devices than on my desktop. If you hate windows I figure you will just hate windows 8 in different and new ways.

Windows has worked fine for me in the past. VIsta was a POS. XP&7 seem fine. I wouldn't touch 8.
