My iPhone Breaks My Keyboard :(

Whenever I connect my iPhone 4 to my Mac Pro (via USB), my keyboard (Apple, USB) stops working correctly.

Some characters just won't appear on screen, some characters will type repeatedly (as if I was holding the key down) even though I only press it once, my command key appears to be "held down" the entire time, and a bunch of other weird stuff. Unconnecting the phone will immediately fix the problem. I've tried rebooting, and closing all programs, but that hasn't fixed it.

Anyone have a similar problem? Any ideas on how to fix it? What gives?

are you plugging the phone in to the keyboard or directly in to the computer?

Both the iPhone and keyboard are plugged directly into the back of the computer.

A couple of things to try:
1. A different keyboard
2. A different iPhone sync cable

You don't say you're using a hub so I suspect not..I'd suggest trying the front usb on the MP. I also use a MacPro and notice at times it can be picky with which port (front/back) I select for certain devices..some work better in the front and some in the rear...just a thought

Correct, no USB hub. Two USB ports, two USB cables, as simple as you can get.

I tried swapping the two ports and it seems to be working fine now (so far at least). I have no idea why that should ever matter...

Are you plugging them both into the front USB ports or in the rear of the unit?

Well, that didn't last long. This morning it went back to what it was doing before.

I was using the USB ports on the back. I tried connecting the keyboard the one of he front USB ports but that didn't fix it. I haven't tried moving the iphone USB to a front port yet (the I organized my cables makes this a bit difficult).
