Phone plan offer from Fido: Any good?

Hey all,

Just wondering what you thought of this offer I got from Fido for iPhone. I haven't inked the deal yet but I'm thinking hard about it. It's a bit more than I'm used to paying but it looks good, and want to get a sense of whether it's really competitive. Should I hustle them for a bit more (eg. long distance mins)?

$70
unlimited city zone calling
unlimited text
6GB data w/tethering
Visual voicemail
50 out of zone mins

Cheers!

Also note - this offer was from customer relations (retentions?), as I've been a long time fido customer.

I pay that for less features with Fido, and I'm a new customer. So you're doing better than me!

I pay roughly that for about the same (except wknds and evenings instead of city zone), it really depends on your usage pattern... for me I could EASILY do without any daytime minutes, just give me evenings wknds and data and I'd be happy... but I have a phone on my desk all day long... so yea...

All in it doesn't really seem like that great a plan for a retentions plan... almost seems like just a regular plan to me...

There are much better retention plans. Just depends on if you need a lot of daytime and never travel out of your city zone.

RedFlagdeals has a bunch of forum posts on Fido/Rogers retention deals.

Interesting - I haven't been able to find recent postings with much better.

So what would be a reasonable request to improve it, do you think?

Did you join on RFD? someone's posting similar stuff to what you've got. If you need the unlimited daytime mins, then maybe it's a good deal. If you don't, I bet you can do better...

I did join RFD. There I posted the second deal that they offered me:

$63

700 mins daytime
unlim FTF, FTR
1 GB data
1000 LD
voicemail pack
unlim txt

I think this one is a bit more flexible for travelling than the zoned plan they gave me...

Cheers!
