I got a dud iPhone 4

So I just snagged one yesterday and the camera doesn't work. Shutter on screen frozen. Google search indicates happening to others and is deemed hardware. Glad I work close to Apple store. Made an appointment with genius and expecting an exchange today... If they have one to give me!

From what I've been seeing, it appears that the stores are carrying stock for warranty replacements. You should be fine.

Sorry about your bad luck.

Make sure you try system restore first to make sure it's not software related... They may ask if you tried that first (and yes, they have the diagnostics to tell!)...

Great service. They had a new one set aside for me and all appears to be well with the new one. Old one marked DOA. Think the call quality was off on the 1st one too. No. 2 seems less tinny

Glad to hear. I had a friend with the infamous yellow spot on the screen and he got a warranty replacement at the Genius Bar as well.

It's a hardware failure "shaking it", restoring etc etc won't do jack. I tried everything, mine wouldn't open either I got a replacement the next day at the apple store.

To the OP, I had the same two issues, it sounded tinny and the camera didn't open.

It was a week 29 build, my replacement is a week 27 build...

Glad to hear yours was tinny too. Mine wasn't going to fix itself either. Camera almost worked once, but then froze. I closed all background apps , restarted several times...didn't do a restore as figured genius could do that if they wanted.

I'll try to figure out the build week of my new one when I get to my work.
