Now with the iPhone 4 oficially announced with a date I'd be surprised if many people are still willing to pay that much for them... My guess is the going rate on ebay/ kijiji / craigslist will fall pretty quickly if for no other reason than a flood of 3G and 3GS users selling their old devices once they upgrade to the iPhone 4.

Nonsense! Last two iPhone releases have (short term) increased the price of second hand (previous generation) phones on Craigslist/Kijiji/eBay/etc...

that may be the case, I don't follow the re-sale market on those sites all that closely... it would just surprise me as I would think the sheer number of people upgrading and selling old iphones would substantially increase the supply... which from economics 101 supply and demand *should* drive the price down... I suppose the added publicity about the iphone in general could increase the demand... but with the 3gs soon to be selling for $99 with a contract... well it would be a surprise to me if I got much more than that for my 3g.... knowing how much better the 3gs is... everytime I use my friend's I notice the difference...

Yes they should add TODAY or CURRENTLY to "you cannot renew your agreement" to avoid confusion. I had to read it twice.
