Fine, here's your 'zoom' button back: iTunes 9.0.1 update

Now in your Software update:

- Fixes a problem syncing Podcasts in playlists to iPod or iPhone.
- Fixes a problem sorting albums with multiple discs.
- Addresses an issue with the Zoom button not switching to Mini Player.
- Improves application syncing for iPod touch and iPhone.

The zoom thing bugged me for all of two minutes. It was unexpected behavior, but in retrospect made sense. Cmd+shift+M for mini player, zoom button to minimize to dock, at least it's consistent with what other apps do.

Option-click the green button also worked in iTunes 9. I am seriously considering not upgrading over this. The previous behaviour was annoying an WAY inconsistent with OS X expected behaviour. This is an example of Apple kowtowing to user demand rather than sticking to what's right. A shame.

Agreed. Argh.

So all the rest of the minor fixes, listed and presumably unlisted, don't make a difference to you?

I didn't see anything in the listed fixed that a) looked like anything compulsory and b) has affected me so far. I'll probably upgrade eventually, but not before firing off a "naughty boy" letter via feedback. It's not a big deal really, but to have FINALLY brought the behaviour in line with everything else in OS X, only to *reverse back* to the "wrong" way, is really annoying (and a violation of their own guidelines), not to mention a downgrade to an upgrade, something Apple almost never does IMHO.

Unfortunately, this update didn't fix the issue where itunes hangs indefinitely when I click on the Podcasts tab. Happens with both iPhone and an iPod Nano. The podcasts seem to update and sync, but I can't manage them anymore. No idea what's causing this problem, but was really hoping that 9.01 would fix it.

That update was for me! Not switching to mini player when hitting the + button was my only gripe with iTunes 9. A welcome update for me and now everything is right with the world... well almost.
