"Who Called" Rebellion!

So when I joined Rogers for the iPhone, I got the option that included 2500 texts, call display, who called....
But I hate that they send you a text telling you that you missed a call as well as it showing up in the call display, seems pointless.
So me and bunch of my friends have all called and removed the who called from our features. Now missing a call has never been less annoying.
So whose with me, join the rebellion! Who knows maybe if enough people do it they'll take that useless feature off the plan. Keep in mind, it saves you no money doing this, I just think it's annoying.

I'm not sure what marketing genius decided that Who Called and call display (and visual voice mail) were a good match in the first place. I called and asked them to turn it off after the first text msg I got from it -- the rep agreed with me that it was pretty pointless if you already had call display that showed the same thing

"Who Called" is pointless for other reasons, but unlike Call Display, which does not send you a text and does not display information for calls not received while the phone is off or in a no-service area, "Who Called" sends you texts and and works while the phone is off or in a no-service area.

If you never turn your phone off and always have service, sure. "Who Called" is then pointless for other reasons.

+1; this is why I like my "Who Called" feature.

I was hoping that this thread was about someting useful, like the nitwit who designed the layout of who called texts. Whenever I click the number to dial it tacks the date on to the end and tries to dial the whole thing. There's some genius at work.

Have you passed the complaint to Rogers?

+3... I don't get signal at my cottage and it's nice to be able to see who called when I get back to reality...

I have had to call them 5 times or more to get them to remove it.
If my phone is off/no service, I have Voicemail.
IF it only sent you the text when your phone was off/no service AND the person didn't leave a message AND had a clickable number to dial, then, and only then could it be actually useful.
Even if my phone was off for half the day, the half that it is ON and I am not taking calls, the annoying nag far outweighs the pros of getting them when my phone is off.

It's been a couple days, I missed a couple cars being away from my phone and have no annoying text along with the call display notice....Very happy with my decision.
I think most people love their iPhones and leave them turned on 99% of the time.
The only time i ever turn mine off is if I go see a movie. And lets face it, most of us are living in the city and always have a good signal. So I see no point in including it in the iPhone package.
It sounds like a great feature for those who don't get a signal all the time or turn their phone off a lot. But majority probably hate it. If I really wanted it, I'd have no problem paying an extra $2/month for it.... although as of now if you get rid of the system access fee, it's included in their new rip off charge for free.
