3.0 Tethering Active but websites won't load

I just installed the carrier update through iTunes (I hit check for update and it told me something was available). Now, tethering seems to be functioning and everything works fine from the iPhone end.

I get the pulsating blue bar at the top that says the iPhone is in tethering mode. This happens when I'm connected via bluetooth or through the cable.

Unfortunately, web pages won't load. I don't get the standard "You are not connected to the internet" message. Instead, it just hangs, trying to load.

I am on Fido. Anybody else having the same problem?

I still don't see the update yet, I don't think it is available until a bit later today.

I haven't had that exact problem but I did notice that I needed to tell me mac what network interface to use if I tethered while another one was connected. Depending on your os check to make sure you are getting a valid ip address from the iPhone on either your bluetooth or new USB interface. It should start with 192.168.*.*

I've been using it for a week now (GM Seed) but my first attempts were a no go. Eventually I tried the o'l standby - restart iPhone and presto, works like butter.

I've now got it working over USB and Bluetooth. The only thing I can't figure out is how to turn the USB off without deleting the settings. Like, I'd like to be able to sync my phone through USB without it automatically starting tethering.

when I first went to the tethering options a popup said "to enable tethering please contact rogers", I was then allowed to change the options but not sure if I want to try it yet. I got the 6gb plan on launch day last summer, do I automatically get tethering?

Mine works without calling Rogers. I got the same message at first but it works anyway.

If you had the GM seed, make sure you check for updates... You should get a new Carrier file.

After installing that, try clicking it again. If the same error message appears, wait a few seconds, and try again. Worked for me.

I have all that happening and Network Diagnostics is all green lights, but safari can't find the servers for any of the web pages I have tried.

WTH?
