Could you clarify your request? Discussions of things that are illegal is against the rules here, but we can certainly point you to resources to learn about copyright law in Canada and such if that's what you want to know.

Wikipedia is a good place to start with articles on Canadian copyright law - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and the Copyright Act of Canada - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For what it's worth: "Canadian courts have ruled that consumers have the right to copy any recording from the original copy even those they do not personally own. This consumer right has been extended by the courts to include peer-to-peer downloads." Source: Canada deems P2P downloading legal - CNET News
- But just because you can exploit a loophole (for now) doesn't make it ethical. Also the MP3 player tax that was enacted in the same ruling was struck down a couple years later (2005).
I still remember Macnutt.

Although I have thousands of downloaded or copied mp3s I have never purchased in any form I do consider peer to peer "theft".
I create IP and so have strong feelings about copyrights but I've for some reason excused my transgressions.

I also feel music publishers are not having many sleepless nights due to their exploitation of loopholes.
