Does it cost me to get more storage for the new iPad Pro?
I want the maximum storage option and is there any way to pay little for the capacity expansion? Or would it be more reasonable to buy external devices like a hard drive?
Please help me....

Once you buy it you cannot add internal storage. You can plug in an external and use it that way, but no option for adding internal unless you go to a cloud service which requires internet access to use.

Apple charges way to much for storage and they have proprietary as far as I know. Mac Pro's definitely are. Over the last 5 or so years I have been swayed over to the PC side of things. Great stuff happening there without breaking the bank. Traditional hard drives as we know it will be a thing of the past replaced by sticks the size of stick of RAM. I have a 1TB M.2 drive on my PC, it is mounted directly onto the mother board (has 2 slots available). Cost was a little over $100 for a name brand M.2 drive. Why upgrading to a 1TB flash drive costs an extra $375 and $875 for 2TB is beyond me.

I can understand it more with devices like an iPad or iPhone and why I would say get what you need when buying any device as you can't upgrade it later. Yes you can use external drives on an iPad pro but you lose the beautiful feel of it and ease of using it in your hand.

So true, and that world is changing so fast, almost to the point where if someone says they are installing a solid-state drive It really doesn't mean anything these days unless they specify the type.

And yes it is unfortunate that Apple prices some of the stuff and upgrades where they do and also prevent some DIY equipment upgrades.

This gives a pretty true idea of the speed and where things are going, and along with the increase in prices of some and lowering of prices of others:

Just saying one installed a solid-state drive doesn't really mean that much these days without being a bit more specific of the type and speed.
