iTunesMatch: can't resubscribe for another year!

I tried iTunes Match on my black Macbook and it didn't work very well so I got a refund.

Now I have a new Mac Mini OS Yosemite, and would like to give it another try but the iTunes Store says I can't resubscribe for another year due to having received a refund.

Any reason why I'm not allowed to try it again now that I have a better system? Perhaps I'll call Apple and see if they'll make an exception, unless they know it's still not working well and I'll just ask for another refund.

I've been using it for 2 years. Spotify is winning me over. Looks like Apple will be undercutting Spotify with a $5 per month "Beats" service by year end.

Maybe there is some technicality like you can't resubscribe but you can sign back up the day it expires?

So I'd say let it expire and then try and sign back up. Not sure it would work. Just a thought.

I've been holding out from trying iTunes Match until we got iTunes Radio but that day has never come.

as for syncing my own library though, Spotify won't do that and they won't have some of the music I have personally. Interested in what the Beats service will be!

unforutnately the expiration is a year from now, so waiting doesn't really resolve anything now

Yes I understand that. I'm impressed overall with Spotify though. I like pretty obscure musics and I have found Spotify to be surpassingly comprehensive. The follow feature allows you to be notified of new additions to the library.

Anyway I'm looking forward having a look at Beats.

Apple had to put something in place to a) allow people to get a refund when they were unsatisfied with a purchase while b) not getting abused or scammed by people misusing the refund policy.

Yes it sucks but in general, I have to side on Apple for this one. However try calling them to see if there is something that can be done for your specific situation.

I would try using Google Music for now. It works fairly well and it's free. I prefer iTunes Match but without Radio in Canada, I can't justify paying for it especially since Spotify's come out. And these days I prefer listening to local radio anyway.

I'd call them. Sure they don't want to be ripped off but you had a problem once, and now you have a mini. Tell them exactly what you said in your original post. What company wouldn't want your money! Please let us know as I for one will think less of Apple if they cause you grief.
