External hard drives question

Hey guys. I need to get a couple of new external hard drives (1-2 TB). I am trying to do this locally rather than dealing with shipping, and the 2 stores in town that carry external drives are Future Shop and Staples. The problem is, none of the drives on their site seem to get very good customer reviews. I am currently running a Seagate and a Lacie that have been been running fine for about 2 years, and are just showing some concerning signs now. Looking up the Seagate drives on Futureshop and (and reviews on Amazon) they seem to get a lot of horrible reviews now. The Lacie's seem to have a bigger price gap between other drives than I remember.

Do either of these stores carry anything that is a decent drive? Is there any drive brand anyone can recommend that either of these stores carry?

Thanks for any help.

FWIW, I have had this Verbatim 2 TB drive for about a year now and it has worked flawlessly:

STAPLES | BUREAU EN GROS

I also have a Western Digital Passport 1 TB and it too performs well and is available at Staples as well:

Problem with future shop and best buy they are not know for high end things..
G Drive is considered a high end drive.

The thing is I am hoping to grab something today. That was why I was asking about the stores that are local. I am off work tomorrow, so it's a good chance to get things setup and backed up.

Not a local option unfortunately. I have Futureshop, Staples, or Walmart available. Closest Costco is an hours drive, and I am not a member to boot. Thanks.
