for those who have no idea who he is..

its a great loss..
As composer, Hamlisch has won virtually every major award that exists: three Oscars, four Grammys, four Emmys, a Tony and three Golden Globe awards.

Sad to hear of his passing. He was truly a master of his craft. He shall be missed.

I worked with him last year as part of the Black Creek Summer Music Festival. He was wonderful to work with and extremely humble. The world has lost a great musician!

who could forget that? Loved Marvin's Billboard hit adaptation of Scott Joplin's music piece and would listen to it on the radio on a rock station in the 70's. Of course the movie Sting was great with his music on it too!
