Not really SINC due to the way you phrased your questions. I care but I am only in the second tier of your poll... seems those interested would constitute the first two tiers and not only the top tier which at the time of this post equals 43.75% here on ehMac.
Not really sure what you are getting at with this poll...? Some people like the Summer Olympics some people don't I think that is a given. Also I don't think that those who frequent ehMac are really representative of a broad spectrum of the general public... Computer "geeks" aren't generally known to be into sports that much.

I don't have much time to watch, but when I turn on the TV lately, it will be to check what's happening in the Olympics. I enjoyed the bike road racing.
I couldn't follow the play in men's water polo and was slightly disturbed by the big manly men wearing (baby-like) bonnets with big under-chin bows. Had to switch to another event.

I actually think there should be another option. I wouldn't say I keep abreast of the games, but I also wouldn't say I'm not interested at all. More of a somewhere in between.

I agree, with the current economic status with the world it seems silly to me that any country is sinking their tax dollars into this.
nothing much has changed.. they are still corrupt and fixed.
I watched a fight where a fighter was knocked down 3 times and still won the match, then carried off because he was so beaten, later the Player who was robbed by the judgment was robbed again having to pay $500 appeal fee to the IOC. which over turned the bout only after the payment and finding out that the ref was from the same region as the player who was knock down 3 times..
Not to mention the scam the Chinese pulled with badminton.
Most disappointing was the IOC refused to honor the Israeli athletes who were murdered with a moment of silence in the opening games..
what about the olympic flame that is hidden from public view in the stadium - which means you have top pay to view it..so much for games of the people.
seems odd that 14 billion was spent to have these games during these economic times, somehow the officials think they will recoup the cost.
I can not see the games going another 20 years with the cost and corruption. Seems that there are always a few countries that keep getting them repetitively. But maybe I am being negative..

I also noticed that half of the girls growth was stunted by years of gymnastics..
When the Chinese girl did the her routine I was like what ?!? is she 12 or 11 yrs of age.. then the details were shown : she was 20
