I play bass and am learning a bunch of new songs. I'd like to know how to print out lyrics and chords I find online and keep the formatting correct, so that the key letters arent all on the left side of the line, they need to be above where there chord change is.
There's got to be a better way than using Mac Mail! So far it's all I've got that doesnt mess up the formatting. Pages doesnt work right for this, all the keys are to the left. Text Edit does the same thing.
This is probably so simple and that's why I cant figure it out!
Thanks
The key is you need to use a monospaced font to maintain the space/character width consistency. As soon as you make it Times or Arial or any proportionately spaced font, the spacing goes all to heck
Most all of the lyrics I have seen use Courier.

If you see the lyrics and chords properly formatted on a webpage, or wherever on your computer, you could take a screen shot of the needed text with shift + command + 4 and print off the resulting image.
Download and try the excellent and free "TextWrangler" text editing app, and as CanadaRAM says, use a monospaced font such as Courier or Monaco.
If the page you're viewing is correctly "formatted", the suggestion to save as a pdf is excellent. Go Print -> Save as PDF from the PDF icon in the lower left corner dropdown option.
