I bought an SMC wireless router and hooked it up to my wired network upstairs. I was able to connect to my powerbook and my PC laptop with wireless PC cards. So far, so good.
I have another wired network in the basement but it isn't connected to the network upstairs. I bought an SMC wireless access point for the basement thinking that I could connect the upstairs and basement networks together with a wireless link. The laptops can link to the upstairs or the basement networks wirelessly but the wireless router upstairs doesn't seem to recognize the wireless access point in the basement. Is my strategy fundamentally flawed, or do I need to change some settings?
