Does Rogers hate iChat AV?

I've been getting messages from Rogers stating that my computer is doing strange lookups and has twice suspended my cable. As it turns out, iChat does these frequent lookups that looks suspicious enough to Rogers to suspend my account. I explain to them that I'm sure many Rogers customers are iChat users and the iChat software is nothing illegal. Has anyone else encountered this problem and are there any solutions?

I think Rogers hires their tech support staff at the corner store or something...

boba fett, do you have any PCs also connected to your Rogers network?

I do not imagine that iChat is doing anything that would look like a break-in attempt, otherwise many, many more people would be bothered by it.

Could Rendezvous.. err.. Bonjour be causing problems with the network?

Has Rogers told you exactly what ports are affected?
Do you use a large amount of bandwidth? Could be an excuse to get you off their system...

Trying to find a support forum that mentions anything similar to this..

Broadband reports only mentions about continuous DNS lookups...

do you have an open wireless router possibly? Or maybe a misconfigured router? It's possible that someone is either connected to your network, or bouncing of of your router to do some nasties that you are getting blamed for ...
