Cool What can I do about laptop screen sun glare?

Summer time is here and it's time to come out of the dark house
Only problem is that it's nearly impossible to read my laptop screen in the sun, and even harder when the brightness is turned down to conserve battery life. (But that doesn't make much of a difference.)

Is there some kind of material or cover that I can put on my Powerbook laptop LCD screen to reduce glare?

I'm guessing it would be like that shiney stuff that the more expensive displays have.

There are others that I've seen that are made out of a fabric type of material,
I just can't find a link at the moment.

The sun is not really the problem. I don't leave my laptop alone in direct sunlight. But when it's a nice semi-cloudy day, or in the morning/evening, I like to use it outside.

I guess the ambient light coming from around me is relected in all directions instead of straight across like a mirror--or one of those "shiney" displays.
Hmm...

I can see black and white LCDs in sunlight, why shouldn't I be able to see a full color LCD?

That looks more feasible, I wonder if it works like it seems it would, or would I have to put my face right up to that hole and look like an idiot?

Different display technologies (look at a Blackberry color unit, versus a Palm color unit for example).

make yourself a visor and save your money. Cardboard boxes works too.
