Dual full screen?

I need to run dual full screen of 2 different QT files on a G5

So I need a setup like this:

Screen 1 running QT file "a" in full screen

Screen 2 running QT file "b" in full screen

Does anyone know how this could be achived?

Is there a aplication out there in the jungle to make this happen?

depends on what type of file format you need to play .. if it's something that VLC supports then sure, super simple. Make a copy of your VLC program, launch them both, set each one to use a different video device and put them both in fullscreen mode.

Sorry I'm not that that into all the shorts here... What does VLC stand for?

All I know is if you put 1 screen into full screen mode playing a QuickTime file (or any other thing for that matter) the other screen turns black... That is the whole isue to get 2 different full screen pictures running 1 on each monitor at the same time...

VLC is a free player app, "Video Lan Client"

http://videolan.org

it can play many formats, but some of the latest QT stuff it doesn't do (yet).

QT was never a great player for fullscreen stuff IMHO, you can't even have one screen in fullscreen and try and do anything else (as it reverts back to being in a window).

Wow thanks for the fast reply that is great I will try it right away. Only problem is im working for a movie post production company and some of the formats used might be to "funky" for it to handle but I will give it a try that's for sure....

Again thanks for the help

Why not mirror the displays when you need to do this. It doesn't take long to change the settings in the Display preferences and you don't need to reboot. While you are mirrored, everything you do on display 1 will happen on display 2. That's what you need to do to run a projector or TV unit from a PowerBook/iBook and it works great.

Macified you talk about mirror the display, but I need to play 2 different files full screen one on each, so how will mirror help me? sorry maybe it's just me that don't get it

Tulse you talk about MplayerOSX and BitPlayer, sound great with format support so that should'nt be a problem but do you know if it can play 2 different files at the same time in full screen one on each monitor?

Sorry, misread the original post. Obviously two different files won't work in mirror mode.

Have you tried any of the oother options yet?
