Do you want to replace the internal hard drive, or install the SSD in addition to the internal hard drive?

The proprietary mounting hardware and SATA cable for the SSD cavity are not present on your (non-SSD) iMac, so any installation will have to be a lash-up with improvised parts.

Perhaps an AASP can chime in and say whether Apple is making the official parts available as service parts.

I recommend removing the optical drive and installing an SSD in it's place!
There are videos online on how to do it!
You can also ask some of the advertisers here for a quote!
I did it to mine and have no regrets.
Good luck.

If you're at least a careful handyman you can do it yourself if needed.

Or get hold of the cable and install it internally along with the SATA drive which I believe you can do on that iMac and keep the optical.

Otherwise pick up an external FW enclosure for the old SATA drive.

I considered the 2nd drive option but decided against when I learned you need to remove the motherboard and basically rebuild the complete interior to accomplish that!
