AppleTV Questions from Noob.

Hi all,

I just jumped onboard the ATV train with the new 1080p hardware, which I had been waiting for. I have a couple of questions though about how ATV and iTunes work together and would appreciate some help or a link to the appropriate FAQ.

1. So if I purchase a Season Pass to a current television show, is that the same as purchasing the whole season permanently or does a "pass" expire?

2. If I purchase a TV season on iTunes it downloads to my computer...but if I purchase a season on my AppleTV do episodes just stream to the unit on request and I can download to my PC if I wish or do I have to download and "share"? (not interested in iCloud)

3. So I notice that on my PC iTunes has movies and tv seasons available in both SD and HD but on the ATV items appear only available in HD. If I rent a movie on the PC in SD will the ATV pick that up or is it again a download on PC and "share" scenario? Is there a way to view SD purchase/rental options on the ATV?

1.) They are yours forever. Can be downloaded to your PC/Mac.

2.) Streams on demand to the AppleTV. Can be downloaded to your PC/Mac.

3.) How to rent a movie from the iTunes Store on Apple TV.

• Click Rent. (Apple TV 2nd generation defaults to HD content when available. You can also request only SD content availability by going to Settings > General > iTunes Store and turning Rent High Definition off).
• Movies rented on your Apple TV are not transferable to any other device and can only be viewed on your Apple TV.
