Sending a receiving fax over wifi

Hi all,

I just can't seem to figure this out.
I'm trying to Send and Receive faxes from my Mac Mini to my Epson Mulitfunction over wifi but can't get it to work. I get the message "No fax modems were found"
I can print and scan over wifi no problem.
I can also directly send and receive faxes directly from the printer.

Help

In order to send a fax your computer or printer must be connect to a fax modem which is then connected to the phone line. You cannot fax via wifi. Since the mini does not have a modem you would need to buy a USB fax modem. US Robotics makes an excellent one at about $60.

It is possible that your Epson printer has a fax modem built in. In that case you would need to connect your printer to your phone line.

Yes the Epson does have a fax modem that is connected to a phone line. I can send and receive faxes from the machine locally but not from my Mac connect to it via Wifi.

Usually you need a dedicated fax driver to fax from your computer. Often these don't work over wifi.
The model of the printer would help

On your Mac can you find the fax modem in the printer settings in the main settings section. If it is there add it as a printer and then try to fax from the Mac.
