Cable Connection Choice ?
I have a MacBook Pro - 13" - 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo - late 2010.
I would like to watch content from this unit on my HDTV..
Would the Kanex Mini Display Port to HDMI be a good choice ? Available on the Apple store for 44.95. Only one cord/connection seems like a good idea.
Appreciate your help/suggestions.

that would work fine. you can get no-name ones for about $10-20. just make sure it supports audio.

mini DP doesn't support HDMI audio.
you might want to get a mini DP to DVI, and then get one of those DVI + Optical to HDMI adapter...

Cheaper to run audio from the headphone port with stereo RCA cables, or with an optical audio cable if the TV or receiver supports it.

It actually does on 2010+ models. (Inc. non-TB models.)

as Lars already said, it does on his model. He just has to make sure the cable he gets supports it as well.

thank you to all for suggestions and comments
To clarify: my MacBookPro 2010 is pre: i5 and i7 and does not have a Thunderbolt port.
Has a firewire 800 and Mini Display Port and USB ports and Mic port.

I stand to be corrected, but I believe the mini display port is identical to the thunderbolt port and would accept any mini port to VGA or thunderbolt to HDMI adapter.

for the purpose of connecting it to a tv, then yes it would be identical.
the difference of course would be if he wanted to do the other stuff that thunderbolt was designed for....then he'd be out of luck.
