Thanx Cubamark. I have been exploring using Wordpress and Rapidweaver....I know that Sinc swears by Rapidweaver so I just wanted to see if I had any other alternatives before the "burning of the bridge". What really sucks is that I find iweb soooooo easy.

I have to admit, iWeb has ruined me.

Knowing that I'll need to move on eventually (sooner rather than later, it seems), I've begun working on a couple of sites I maintain, moving them into RapidWeaver. I'm totally lost. I can't figure out how to do a bunch of stuff that in iWeb is drag-and-drop easy. I have the latest RapidWeaver 5, but it's become totally alien to me - and I used to code my sites in raw HTML back when Mosaic was the only browser available (apart from Lynx).

Time to buckle down and re-learn a bunch of stuff, I guess Like - what the heck is the "Resources" "folder" in RW for anyway? I've put stuff in there, but... what?

I've been spoiled....

Agreed. Tried out Sandvox and Rapidweaver and can't excited about either one. Also discovered that all the page elements in iWeb are editable, from background wood grain textures to fonts and colors to opacity and tints--iWeb really is still the best app for guys like me. Plus I already know how to use it. What I really need to know is how to publish to a different host (after MobileMe) and which ones are recommended.

SUPER-simple.

Click on the first item in the sidebar - which typically has the name of your website.

The main window will change to a screen of details as to where it should be published. Simply change it from MobileMe / Dot-Mac to the new webhost that you have contracted (FTP details... server, username, password, default path).

I've just moved a bunch of sites to MacHighway.com - seems to be a reasonable price and near idiot-proof. Haven't explored any of their advanced features, but there appears to be a lot on offer there (including Wordpress service, SQL, etc.).

You can also export your website to a folder on your desktop, and use another FTP program to handle uploads - but since it's built in to iWeb, might as well use it.

I tried the local host on my computer method which brings it up in Safari really quickly--but only on the computer on which I'm working. I will investigate other hosts next.
