WOn't connect to fifi

When I boot from my USB ext drive (OS X 6), I keep getting a connection timeout error when attempting to join my home wifi network. I have no such problems with my internal HD.... 10.7

Any suggestions to get connected?

Thanks,
Thom

first thing would be to unplug the router for a good few minutes then try again.

That's not a poodle, that's my French maid, and if you saw here you'd want to connect with her too.

When you boot from the external, you are booting a different User account and settings. There must be a difference in your network settings between this and your normal User account.

Makes sense, I will try that. (The external is a clone of my daughter's Mac)

Does using the Network pref pane provide any Help?

Network -> select AirPort -> Assist me... -> Diagnostics -> choose network port type -> continue...

Are you paying her enough? Perhaps Fifi is holding out for a raise.
