Odd Symptom of Trouble?

On my 2 yr. old 21.5 Intel Imac desktop, running Snow Leopard, and, and using Firefox, I have recently noticed that on some sites, when I scroll halfway down a page, the print on the lower half of the page looks as though it was it was printed on a printer that was running out of ink. (horizontal white lines running through the print, but still legible).
When I reload the page, the effect disappears and does not return.
Is this an indication of some hardware or software problem, or is it a web server problem?

Does it only happen on a specific web site?

Sorry, I should have included that information! It happens on a small variety of websites, and is intermittent.

Unfortunately, I don't know, since this only occurs occasionally and I seldom use Safari (only when I am on the Apple sites or forums). I will try switching browsers next time it occurs.

Ok, but I have Safari installed, and it naturally works better on Apple sites. I just prefer the Firefox format. However, it hasn't occurred again yet!

It occurred again and also appeared when I switched to Safari and reaccessed the same site. Again, with Safari, reloading made it disappear.
