Boot from the OSX cd and select the change password feature to override his.

As an update,my friend is unable to get the HD reformatted on his pc.He can't set it on a master or slave to try the format.I have the highest confidence that he knows what he is doing.

So now,do I
A-Blow 200 bucks on a new HD
or
B-Blow 500 bucks on a MO
Which seems like the lesser of a chance.
