I don't see Windows files

I just noticed this. Late 2010 Macbook Pro, OS 10.6.6

I make runtime program versions for Mac and Windows using FileMaker and have these archived on my machine. This new machine does not see Windows files sitting on the internal hard drive. I never had this problem before.

I am assuming that something is turned off by default. What do I have to turn on?

Problem solved - sort of

It appears that when I migrated files from the old to the new machine, for some reason the Windows files did not migrate... Which would explain why they could not be seen in Finder.

Migration Assistant does not move Bootcamp partitions, if that's the issue you're having. Or Windows files found elsewhere (exc VMWare, etc). They'd have to be moved manually.

Thanks Lars

I did a mass manual migration when I set up the machine. The windows files were on a mac partition. From this incident, it appears they do not move in that scenario either.

I am going to have to go manually back through my system and see what did not move and see if the pattern is consistent. It is a pain, but as a matter of policy I never do anything to the old machine or it's backup drive for quite a while after I migrate "Just In Case". I seems that this will pay off this time.
