installing software on X problems

hello there folks,

i'm using a DP 867 at work with 10.2.5 and i'm having some problems installing software. i downloaded the ical package and made an attempt at installing the software. i clicked on the .mpkg and this launched the installer. it goes through all the necessary steps and then freezes at the step that says installing. it just doen't progress beyond this stage at all. the progress bar changes colour but does not move at all. i've left it running for several hours and nothing to my avail. the same goes for itunes4. it freezes at the same step. now, i am connected to a network as well. i don't know if this is causing some problems, but if anyone has any ideas, i'd love to hear them. thanks folks,

Run fix permissions in /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility

I've seen 10.2.5 and some other versions that seem to mess with permissions on occasion.

Otherwise, do you have another admin account you can install software from? I always tell my customers to create a seperate admin account for troubleshooting purposes just in case your regular account grenades on you.
