Anyone have any first hand experience with these ac free pocket mobile drives?,
I'm thinking of buying one for my laptop.

I have the 20 GB and my whole life is on it. Very nice, fast, quite little drives with nice rubber protection. Been working great for me.

I've been weighing all the choices carefully and I think you might be right,
I've looked at the Firewire/USB drives but they need an ac adaptor and I want to be as portable as possible, I've also debated over the PC Card drives by MCE, But their drive isn't transferrable to my desktop Mac. (I can't hook up a PC Card drive to my desktop)
So, It looks like I'll go buy the 20 gb drive.

Thanks for the reassurance.

Regards,
David

The dealer (CPUsed) told me that even though it says it's compatible with OS 9xx on the box that it is not compatible with OS 9xx, The dealer told me that they phoned LaCIE and LaCIE had told them that it is not compatible with OS 9xx and only compatible with OS X
Who should I believe?, The dealer or LaCIE's web site

I just got an email back from the horses mouth "LaCIE" and they said this:

Hi David,
I am afraid so, the mobile drive is not supported under Mac Os 9. A few
packages were printed with this incorrect information. Sorry to disappoint.
However both the Data bank and the classic Pocket drive have USB and
firewire. These products will work with your power book.
