ECRM RIP Software

Some clients of mine are using an old version of the ECRM RIP software (version 3.27). I have found out that they are no longer able to upgrade to the latest version because they no longer offer an upgrade from that version. To buy the full latest version is something like US$5000. Does anyone have any advice on any alternatives to this RIP? They have an ECRM VRL36 ScriptSetter that they have hooked up to a B&W G3.

Our RIP has no problems supporting the ECRM. In fact we may be able to use the current interface card for the imagesetter to help offset the costs. Also, our RIP includes a soft proof option where you can view traps and overprints on screen before printing. Also, you can attach a colour proofer to the same RIP and make colour proofs before going to film.

Still haven't found an affordable solution. Does anyone have a newer version (say 4.x or 5.x) of the ECRM RIP software that will run on a Power Mac G3? I don't think they want to spend more than about CAD$3000 if possible.
