Currently I use Netscape 4.7 and I love it. Recently I installed quicktax, and for some reason Netscape 6.2 was downloaded and now I cannot find my original profile on either 4.7 or 6.2!! Any ideas on what happended? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

Did you check to see if it was moved to the trash by the installer?

What OS?

Your Netscape 4.7 profiles will be stored in the Preferences folder within the System folder.
Within the Preferences folder there are a couple of places to look. They could be in a folder called Netscape f or they could be in a folder called Netscape Users. Sometimes the profile in Netscape Users just has an alias that links to the Netscape f folder.
Netscape Version 6 shouldn't delete your original data, you probably just unintentionally created a new user profile.
I would make backups of any Netscape f and Netscape User folders (copy to a CD or to another location). My guess is that you will have more that one user folder within your Netscape Users folder. Move or copy all the stuff that is in the older user folder to the new user folder. This may take some experimentation. If you made a backup you can always go back if it screws things up.

I used Netscape 4.7 for a long time, but about about last summer it just wasnt up to all the new web standards and plug ins, I didnt care for any of the newer Netscape versions.
I usually use Internet explorer 6.1 in OS9, but will investigate the OsX browsers soon.
IE6.2 is really pretty acceptable, Opera is kind of screwy. I guesds we are all cheering for safari to get up to full speed soon.
regards
Mark
