23" Cinema HD Display recognized but won't turn on
I have a near 5 year old 23" Cinema HD Display that was working fine until today. I was at work when the power went out at home, and it was hooked up to my sleeping MacBook Pro, but this evening the Display will nolonger start up. There are no flickering lights on the front of the cinema display and for all intensive purposes seemed to be dead...
...except that my MBP still recognizes it under the Displays menu and I can drag windows and move the mouse to the other screen BUT no dice.
I have tried unplugging all the cables from the Display, unplugging the power supply, trying a different 3 prong power cable (the USB/firewire/DVI cable to the display itself is permanently attached behind the screen itself).
No power. No lights. BUT still recognized on the MBP.
Restarted the MBP, disconnected and reconnected the Display, plugged in and unplugged the USB from the Display (which does not seem to be recognized by the MBP either - not good sign).
So I'm now down to 2 possible answers:
1) the 90W 'power brick' is dead or shorted during the power failure
2) the screen itself is fully dead/component failed
Any further ideas or insights beyond what I mentioned? I won't be able to try a similar power source until I get back to work on Monday to check the power brick.
Or has the display finally bid the pixel fairy goodbye?
