Dead PowerPC G4 Dual 1G- No Chime
My PowerPC G4 tower has died. There is no chime when hitting power button but fans come on and light on logic board is lit. I have replaced the power supply, logic board battery, reset PMU (only clicked button once), replaced graphics card, unplugged it and held down power button for 10 seconds.
I was able to get it to start up once after replacing the battery. I tried to mouse over to fix the clock and the computer froze. I manually shut it down and it hasn't started again since. This was after replacing the power supply which we thought was the problem initially.
Nothing I've tried has worked. How can I tell if the logic board is dead? What else could it be?
Thanks!

It doesn't sound too promising, but have you tried booting from the install disk??
Is the hard drive spinning up??

I can't open the drive to install a cd. No, the hard drives make no sound.

A Mac mini is $749.
Sorry, but putting money into repairing a Power Mac G4 is a poor investment.

You can't boot from any volume, known good or not, if the unit has no video...
Your suggestion isn't relevant.

One never knows unless one tries, especially considering that the G4 internal HD doesn't seem to be spinning up.
