What do you think? I remember listening to them from an iMac and I was thinking they sounded pretty good, but mine aren't the same. Mine seem to have a "hollow" sound with poor bass response. I have to turn up the sound almost to max on my G4 to get good bass. I also remember seeing the speakers vibrate from the iMac, while mine hardly move except when I really crank it up. At medium volume the sound hardly has bass (thank goodness I have my iSub to make up the difference). Mine are new speakers, but even my Indigo iMac has better sound (I think). So is there a problem here? Could it be my sound card (if there is one in my G4) or is it the speakers?

I'll hopefully be able to compare the sound with the iMac again, but I want to see what you guys think first.

My pro speakers sound great on my 17" iMac, on par with my $500 Sony mini system. Volume 1/2 way is plenty loud with iTunes. As for the bass, that's something I wondered myself. There is TONS of bass, and I don't see how it can all come from such tiny speakers. I read somewhere that the iMac base acts as a Sub for the speakers, which would make sense because it does have a speaker, and has weight so as not to vibrate. Any truth to that? It would explain why your G4 box doesn't have the bass!

My Blueberry imac 350 certainly had better sound than my brand new Apple Pro speakers. Having an Isub certainly improves their performance, but they still seem underpowered and distort too easily when the volume is raised.

I have heard good things about JBL's Creatures.

apple pro speakers are decent, but compared to the other speakers out there, it kinda sucks. those soundsticks look and sound sooo much better than the apple pro speakers. i got the jbl creatures and do a much better job than the AP speakers. only use them when you got nothing else.
