I want to replace my powerbook's HD with a larger one, what is the best way to transfer everything on to the new HD?

I was thinking of just copying all the files to my tower and then dumping them back on after I install the new HD. Is this a good idea or is there something better that can be done? Has anyone paid to get this done? If so how much?

Dumping your files to your tower is probably the fastest/easiest way to go about it, another option would be to back it all up to CD. Having Apple Backup.app (available with a dot-Mac subscription) or Dantz Retrospect makes this task much easier as well as the job of putting all the files back.

Which PowerBook is it?

Will everything work alright after the dump back? I heard there are invisible files that can't be copied or something like that.

It's a Lombard.
