....same with headphones. i only get the right channel. earlier, i took my headphone jack out of my ibook and it did this crazy screen flicker and i had to force shut down. after that, it was only right channel.

please tell me this can be fixed easily and i haven't fried my soundcard or anything....

fixed it. checked out applecare. went into sys prefs. output was all the way to the right. [img]smile.gif[/img]

but apparently some people have had a prob with constant output to right...... hmmmm......

Hello,

Glad you solved your problem. In doing so, you prompted me to look in the sound preferences pane, which has allowed me to rectify an irritant that I've had ever since I got my Mac. That is, the feedback sound whenever I press a volume key. I find this very irritating and my fix was to use the "Funk" sound effect as it is not as disruptive as the "Purr" sound.

I noticed that there is a box that allows me to not "[p]lay feedback when volume keys are pressed." I think this is a new feature in Jaguar or I somehow missed this from 10.1.5.
