hello!
i own a power mac g3 and my brother deleted somthing in there that is possibly rewind the whole Mac. now when i open my mac it does somthing that request from me to reboot the mac. now when i put in the Mac OS X CD the mac doesent recognize it.
tho that if i press Z+Ctrl it goes to somekind of "open firmwire".
how can i go into the CD?

With the Mac OS X CD disk in the Mac, restart or cold boot and hold down the C key while it boots.

The directions should be written right on on the CD.

On Intel Macs if you hold down the C key during boot up, it will boot directly from the optical drive. Not sure if that is also the case with powerPC machines....

Try holding down the option key at startup and see if you get an option to select the install CD. I assume it IS a proper Mac OS install disk???

If that doesn't work, maybe the optical drive is kaput or dirty.

Use another Mac and put the MacBook into target disk mode, hold down the T key at start-up and connect it with a firewire cable.

Oppps, correction - forgot that it was a G3 and that probably won't work.
