Question NO burrning love for me. :(

Hey guys ,

Well I have some major problems. Both computers I have are doing this.

I burn backup games on my computers and I am not able to get both disk drives to see my disks,
We will start with my mac book.
I'll put the disk in. then it'll sound very funny and then spit the disk back out, I have no clue what is going on I use vertmabain disks (I am not sure on spelling of them)
the mac book is running windows 7 as I need a porgram called img burn. I also am have major problems with X at the moment,

Power mac g4 problem
I recently Installed a Dvd burner in my PM and it worked fine as I was having problems with my mac book. The burner worked fine Till I updated the system to work with my usb 2 card so I would not have to sit for hours copping iso files. I updated and None of the programs can see the disks. All of the plugs are tight. so there is nothing lose. and the computer sees cd's fine.

Also sorry for the bad English this morning. Just I'm very frustrated, and what not, and can not think in English that well today lol.

but one thing my next computer is a hp running 7. I love 7 alot

Edit: I'm installing 10.3 on my G4 at the moment, and its amost done. :P got to love a 16x dvd drive

no burning love?

Okay--first off, do a repair permissions on your macbook and power mac. failing that, maybe verbatim have changed the formula of the disks they sell. Try using a different
brand of disk. I think the drive in your power mac has to be master or cable select, then
smack the cuda button inside on the logic board. I use "Burn" for iso's on my mac and no problem here for me....

major problems with X? do an archive and install from Panther or whatever you have

these are just suggestions... whether they actually do anything good or not, I can't say
obviously there'll be someone who knows a bit more about this that I do....

your mileage may vary

Also make sure that you have updated any software required to burn using those new burners. I've had to do this in the past when using non-Apple burners.

Just run a search on the burner model and see if it requires a software update patch to work with your current system.

If it's a MacBook it is Intel and will not handle Panther, otherwise it is an iBook or a PowerBook and may or may not allow a Panther install depending on how recent it is.
