worth a try with Apple Care?

I have several months left on Apple Care and have noticed a couple issues lately, and I'm wondering if they fall under Apple care warranty. My MacBook hasn't sit flat for some time now and I noticed the other night that the battery has "swelled" a bit and it rounded, protruding past the MacBook's "legs." That's one issue. The other being a skewed Display which isn't aligned anymore edge-to-edge. Possibly due from heat in the hinge area? There has been no abuse or inflicted damage whatsover. Apart from these two issues, the MacBook has worked flawlessly. What do you think?

It's definitely worth the shot with the bulging battery, and the scewed display is something I would definitely ask them about.

The way I look at it, worst they could say is "no."

Call apple

I've heard that a laptop battery contains as much energy as a hand grenade; if it's at all misshapen I would call Apple immediately.

With the Apple battery explosions in the past, I would not even use the Macbook. I would definitely call Apple ASAP.

Thanks for the advice. After calling Apple, and after a few holds for the rep consulting with the higher up, an new battery is being sent Fedex and I have been told not to use my present swollen battery. It will take around 5-7 days to get the new battery, so, I'm stuck to AC. As for the skewed display, I was given the reps phone number to call in October, before I travel out to civilization and where there is an authorized Apple Service, and he will make sure I'm taken care of, even though my Apple Care protection will be over by several months. Sweet. Can't beat that.

that is sweet! just make sure you have the apple case number, just in case... and if it were me, i'd take a photo to document the issue now (while the applecare is still in effect).
